2026 City of Merriam Downtown Master Plan Survey

Dear Merriam Resident/Business Owner:
The City of Merriam is developing a new Downtown Master Plan, and we want your input. Downtown Merriam has the potential to evolve over the coming years with new restaurants, shops, housing, public spaces, trails, and other improvements. At the same time, the area faces important challenges related to flooding, access, redevelopment, and how future improvements could be funded. This survey is designed to help the City understand the priorities and preferences of Merriam residents and business owners as the plan is developed.

Your feedback will help guide future planning and investment decisions for Downtown Merriam, including the area along Merriam Drive between 55th Street and Johnson Drive. All responses are confidential. ETC Institute, an independent research firm, will compile and report the results in aggregate only; individual responses will not be shared with the City. At the end of the survey, you may also choose to enter a drawing for a chance to win one $500 prepaid Visa gift card.

The Downtown Master Plan is expected to be presented to the City Council for consideration later this year. For more information about the planning process, please visit merriam.org/downtown. Questions? Please contact ETC Institute’s Director of Community Research, Ryan Murray at 913-254-4598 or ryan.murray@etcinstitute.com.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
